3 Or More is a board game released in 1980 for 2–4 players, 30 minutes per game, and ages 7 and up. It was designed by Kenneth Rand and its main mechanics are Tile Placement and Pattern Building.
44 tiles, each having three coloured spots are shuffled and placed face down. There are four different colours of spots. Two tiles of each colour are 'triples' and have three spots the same. The remaining tiles are all unique, and each colour has exactly 33 spots. Each player picks three tiles and a player is chosen to start the game. Play is simple, place a tile to the table on either side of an already placed tile. Once a row of 11 tiles is formed, a new row must be started. The player then draws to refill his hand to three. Whenever three or more spots of a colour exist, a player scores one point for each spot, diagonal lines count double. A player who plays a 'triple' automatically gains at least three points. The game ends when four rows have been completed... all 44 tiles are played. The player who scored the highest total wins. In the German/Dutch/French/Nordic versions of Domingo (published by Ravensburger AG), there are 48 tiles and four colors (yellow, red, blue, green), but the game otherwise appears to be identical.
3 Or More supports 2–4 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for 3 Or More is 30 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists 3 Or More for ages 7 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
3 Or More has a complexity rating of 1.4 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
