A Carnivore Did It! is a board game released in 2025 for 1–5 players, 20 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Urtis Šulinskas and Daumilas Ardickas and its main mechanics are Deduction, Cooperative Game, and Scenario / Mission / Campaign Game.
A Carnivore Did It! promises a guilty meat-eater, but you will have to determine the culprit for yourself. Maybe an herbivore was actually behind the crime, or perhaps you're searching for two culprits — or even three? For each case in this co-operative game, you're given a number of suspects, with each suspect being assigned a statement, e.g., "Shark is telling the truth" or "A carnivore did it". You know how many culprits you're looking for, and you have some idea of how truthful everyone is being. Perhaps only one suspect is lying, or perhaps 3-4 of them are telling the truth. Putting all of this information together, can you determine who did the crime? A Carnivore Did It! includes two thousand cases, each with a single solution, with the difficulty increasing to have up to seven suspects, conditional statements, and varying levels of truthiness. Also included is a campaign mode that links several cases together, with you scoring in them based on the amount of time it takes to find each solution...if you find them at all.
A Carnivore Did It! supports 1–5 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for A Carnivore Did It! is 20 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists A Carnivore Did It! for ages 8 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
A Carnivore Did It! has a complexity rating of 1.7 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
