Anno Domini: Reisen und Verkehr is a board game released in 2015 for 2–8 players and ages 10 and up. It was designed by Urs Hostettler and its main mechanics are Open Drafting.
Each Anno Domini game consists of 340 cards, with a description of a historical event on one side of the card and the year (and sometimes specific date) in which it happened on the other. Anno Domini: Reisen und Verkehr contains historical events related to voyages of famous people, transport, traffic motorization, etc. Like all Anno Domini sets, this game can be played as a standalone or mixed with some or even all editions. In Anno Domini: Reisen und Verkehr, each player receives nine cards (or fewer, if you want the game to be shorter) and may look only at the descriptions. In turn, players place a card on the table, trying to place their card in chronological order to those already present. Instead of adding a card, a player may claim that the order in which the cards have been placed is incorrect. In this case all cards are turned over and the correct years revealed. If the order is correct, then the doubting player receives two cards and skips a turn. If the order is incorrect, then the previous player – who accepted the order as correct or made it incorrect through her own placement – receives three cards. The first player with no cards remaining in hand wins.
Anno Domini: Reisen und Verkehr supports 2–8 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The catalogue lists Anno Domini: Reisen und Verkehr for ages 10 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Anno Domini: Reisen und Verkehr belongs to these categories: Card Game, Bluffing, and Trivia. Its main mechanics are Open Drafting. Categories describe the theme and setting of a game, while mechanics describe what players actually do on their turns. Each mechanic links to a catalogue hub with similar games, which helps when you want something comparable.
The credited designers of Anno Domini: Reisen und Verkehr are: Urs Hostettler. These credits come from the published game data and name the people responsible for the game’s design, not its illustrators or publishers. The catalogue lists Anno Domini: Reisen und Verkehr as a base game. It can be played on its own with the components in the box and does not require any other title. Expansions, if any exist, add new content or rules on top of it and are listed separately in the catalogue with a link back to this base game.
