Beggar My Neighbour is a board game for 2–6 players.
Each player starts with a face-down deck of cards. In turn each player places their top card in the middle of the table. When a "Put" card is played, the next player has to put down the number of cards required. If they play a "Put" card, then their turn ends and the next player goes. If no "Put" card turns up in the cards put down, the player who laid the last "Put" card gets all the cards from the centre of the table. A player who runs out of cards is out of the game. The last player left in the game is the winner.
Beggar My Neighbour supports 2–6 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
Beggar My Neighbour has a complexity rating of 1.0 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
