Crop Circles is a board game released in 2022 for 1–12 players, 15–25 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Sebastián Martínez and its main mechanics are Dice Rolling, Paper-and-Pencil, and Solo / Solitaire Game.
Strange circles have begun to appear in different corn crops... Is the first evidence of extraterrestrial life? Or is it a reinvention of the agricultural business corporation to attract tourists to their decaying farmlands? In this Roll & Write game, each player rolls two dice and places both numbers in their chosen fields on their crop circles, trying to make the best possible combinations. Every crop circle has 7 fields, and with the numbers inside you can score every Crop Circle in different ways: forming a stair, with different numbers, with the same numbers or with neighbors numbers. At the end of the game you will score with your 8 different crop circles and the different bonus than you can take advantage of. Whoever has the bigger score will win the game. Can you have the most attractive Crop Circles for the invasion of tourists?
Crop Circles supports 1–12 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Crop Circles is 15–25 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Crop Circles for ages 8 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Crop Circles has a complexity rating of 2.0 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a medium-light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
