Dragon Dice: Lava Elves is a board game expansion released in 2011 for 2–6 players, 30–60 minutes per game, and ages 10 and up. It was designed by Lester Smith and Chris 'Shep' Shepperson and its main mechanics are Dice Rolling and Die Icon Resolution.
Return to the ancient days of creation in Esfah…and find that legends live! The power of Lord Death, jealous of Nature, produced his own children. First came the Lava Elves, creatures of Fire and Death bred to conquer Esfah. With powerful magic and potent missiles, the unpredictable Lava Elves became the bane of the land, especially in their own Highlands. Now available in a kicker pack, the Lava Elves also bring their monstrous allies, including the legendary Lurker in the Dark, making its first appearance in Dragon Dice™. Each Lava Elf kicker box contains a random assortment of 7 6-sided dice: 4 small 16mm, 2 medium 18mm, and 1 large 20mm. They also include 1 random 22mm 10-sided monster die and a rules sheet.
Dragon Dice: Lava Elves supports 2–6 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Dragon Dice: Lava Elves is 30–60 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Dragon Dice: Lava Elves for ages 10 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Dragon Dice: Lava Elves belongs to these categories: Fantasy, Dice, and Collectible Components. Its main mechanics are Dice Rolling and Die Icon Resolution. Categories describe the theme and setting of a game, while mechanics describe what players actually do on their turns. Each mechanic links to a catalogue hub with similar games, which helps when you want something comparable.
The credited designers of Dragon Dice: Lava Elves are: Lester Smith and Chris 'Shep' Shepperson. These credits come from the published game data and name the people responsible for the game’s design, not its illustrators or publishers. Designer pages on MeepleRules collect other titles by the same designers, which helps when you enjoy a game and want to find similar ones.
The catalogue lists Dragon Dice: Lava Elves as an expansion. Expansions add new content, rules or scenarios to an existing base game and usually cannot be played on their own.
