Etherfields: Sphinx Campaign is an expansion for Etherfields released in 2022 for 1–4 players, 90–180 minutes per game, and ages 14 and up. It was designed by Michał Oracz and its main mechanics are Cooperative Game and Deck, Bag, and Pool Building.
The Sphinx is one of the oldest cults and a symbol of wisdom and mystery. Since ancient times, this magnificent creature was a guardian of secret knowledge. In this campaign you will be on a quest to discover a deeply hidden mystery that will bring a revolution to the world ruled under the Sphinx entity... What will it be...? What answers will you need to find...? In this campaign, gameplay will be an endless maze that players will need to go through. From a components standpoint, you will have labyrinth tiles that you will be able to connect to one another in many different ways to try to pass through. However, if you end up at a dead end, you will need to go back to the start and try again. Secret knowledge will be very handy here as these tiles will have a lot of hidden mechanics of which you will have no knowledge at the start of the campaign. Only after unlocking some of the Sphinx mysteries, will you see a path in a place you previously thought was a dead end.
Etherfields: Sphinx Campaign supports 1–4 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Etherfields: Sphinx Campaign is 90–180 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Etherfields: Sphinx Campaign for ages 14 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
