Hot Potato is a board game released in 2011 for 3–9 players, 30 minutes per game, and ages 9 and up. It was designed by Rob Seater and its main mechanics are Hand Management, Hot Potato, and Simultaneous Action Selection.
from the rulebook: Pass the Hot Potatoes around the table using action cards. You can play seasonings onto the potato to make it huge, popping, or even flaming! If you can’t pass a potato away, it explodes and burns your hands! More potatoes arrive freshly baked each round, adding to the chaos. When all the potatoes have exploded, the player with the fewest burns wins...unless the player with the most burns can stir up enough sympathy to steal the victory!

The listed playing time for Hot Potato is 30 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Hot Potato for ages 9 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
