Kathmandu: Queenie 1 is an expansion for Kathmandu released in 2024 for 2–4 players. It was designed by Stefan Feld.
In addition to the character cards from the base game, you now have the option to choose from 3 additional character cards. With these new characters you will receive 1 of each resource, 1 additional resource of your choice, and 3 starting equipment cards at the start of the game. Characters includes: Cartographer, Messenger, and Adventurer. Cartographer: When another player’s yak ends its movement on the same space as the Cartographer’s yak, that player may not swap maps with the Cartographer. Matching pairs of maps are immediately considered secured for the Cartographer and will be worth 8 points in the final scoring. Messenger: If the Messenger’s target space is a city or temple space, they receive 1 compass or 1 yak fodder from the supply. Adventurer: Once per turn, the Adventurer can spend any 1 resource to allow their yak to make one right-angled turn during its movement.
Kathmandu: Queenie 1 supports 2–4 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
