Loop Inc.: Expansion Cards is an expansion for Loop Inc. released in 2015 for 1–4 players and ages 13 and up. It was designed by Scott Almes and its main mechanics are Hand Management and Action Queue.
This Limited Edition expansion adds 14 new cards to the game. Anomalies (4 cards) Every time you go back in time, anomalies are added to the game. More anomalies means more variability! Future (5 cards) Instead of going back in time, you have the option of going into the future. Futures add a bit more complexity to the game, as each future trip allows you to take a bonus action. If you play the future right, you can unlock some fantastic combinations! Office (5 cards) The Office action cards replace the simple Trash action cards in the game. Now, instead of merely removing components in order prevent the loss of points, you can time your actions to gain points. These cards were included for free for all backers of Loop Inc. on Kickstarter. However, these extras are available for purchase separately. None are Kickstarter-exclusive.
Loop Inc.: Expansion Cards supports 1–4 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The catalogue lists Loop Inc.: Expansion Cards for ages 13 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Loop Inc.: Expansion Cards has a complexity rating of 2.0 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a medium-light game.
