POP! is a board game released in 2025 for 1–5 players, 10–20 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Kamoto and Mr.Kou and its main mechanics are Hand Management, Deduction, and Cooperative Game.
You are a colour guardian of the Kingdom of Colours. There's a big party coming up and a lot of colours are expected! There's likely to be an attendance record, and the wait to get in is sure to be explosive! You're part of the team stationed at the entrance. You'll need to be careful, because when two identical colours are next to each other, they explode and can cause a chain reaction! Arrange the colours skilfully so that the party doesn't turn into a fiasco before it even starts! Set Up : 1) Shuffle all the Pop cards and place 5 of them in a line, face up. There can’t be two identical colours next to each other. 2)Setting up your hand Shuffle the remaining Pop cards and deal 9 cards to each player to form their hand. 4) Setting up the draw pile Place the remaining Pop cards face down 5)Setting up the Multicolour Chief card In a 2- to 4-player game, place the Multicolour Chief card next to the draw pile. It counts as a player. A game is composed of 3 rounds, each containing several turns that progress as follows: 1) Select Pop cards Each player chooses 1 Pop card from their hand and places it face down in front of them. 2) Reveal the Pop cards All players reveal their card simultaneously. 3) Place the Pop cards and check the explosions The player who played the Pop card that triggered the explosion collects all the exploding Pop cards and places them in front of them. Different game mode : 1 player, 2 to 5 players with cooperative and competitive modes —description from the publisher
POP! supports 1–5 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for POP! is 10–20 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists POP! for ages 8 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
POP! belongs to these categories: Card Game, Deduction, and Puzzle. Its main mechanics are Hand Management, Deduction, and Cooperative Game. Categories describe the theme and setting of a game, while mechanics describe what players actually do on their turns. Each mechanic links to a catalogue hub with similar games, which helps when you want something comparable.
The credited designers of POP! are: Kamoto and Mr.Kou. These credits come from the published game data and name the people responsible for the game’s design, not its illustrators or publishers. Designer pages on MeepleRules collect other titles by the same designers, which helps when you enjoy a game and want to find similar ones.
The catalogue lists POP! as a base game. It can be played on its own with the components in the box and does not require any other title. Expansions, if any exist, add new content or rules on top of it and are listed separately in the catalogue with a link back to this base game.
