Railroad Ink: Futuristic Expansion Pack is an expansion for Railroad Ink Challenge: Lush Green Edition released in 2021 for 1–4 players, 15–30 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Lorenzo Silva and Hjalmar Hach and its main mechanics are Dice Rolling, Paper-and-Pencil, and Network and Route Building.
In the multiplayer puzzle game Railroad Ink™, your goal is to connect as many exits on your board as possible. Each round, a set of dice are rolled in the middle of the table, determining which kind of road and railway routes are available to all players. Use the 4 special dice of the Futuristic Expansion Pack in addition to your regular Route dice, and find new ways to score points: Super Connection (1 die): use “wild” routes and connect both Highways and Railways to create huge networks! City Builder (2 dice): gather resources and construct buildings to score extra points! Alien Farmer (1 die): manage your farms and use UFOs to collect as many sheep as possible! Note: at least one core set of Railroad Ink™ or Railroad Ink Challenge™ is required to use this expansion pack.
Railroad Ink: Futuristic Expansion Pack supports 1–4 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Railroad Ink: Futuristic Expansion Pack is 15–30 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Railroad Ink: Futuristic Expansion Pack for ages 8 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Railroad Ink: Futuristic Expansion Pack has a complexity rating of 2.0 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a medium-light game.
