Rooms & Roomies is a board game released in 2026 for 1–5 players, 30–75 minutes per game, and ages 10 and up. It was designed by Juri Alexander and its main mechanics are Set Collection, Tile Placement, and Modular Board.
The furniture store opens its doors and you throw yourselves into the search for the best pieces. But your personal taste isn’t all that matters: in the café, new roomies are waiting to move in with you, each with their own individual wishes. After four days, you will see whose shared home is the happiest and therefore worth the most points. So, load the truck, furnish your rooms, impress your roomies, and off you go! Rooms & Roomies is played over 4 days. Each day, players start with the shopping phase, where they collect furniture tiles from the store and load them into their truck, and they can also take up to 1 roomie from the café. After that, during the furnishing phase, players place the tiles in their home. Each roomie has unique home wishes, so at the end of the game you score points for completing their goals. —description from the publisher
Rooms & Roomies supports 1–5 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Rooms & Roomies is 30–75 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Rooms & Roomies for ages 10 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Rooms & Roomies has a complexity rating of 2.1 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a medium-light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
