Saint Seiya: Deckbuilding is a board game released in 2018 for 2–5 players, 40–60 minutes per game, and ages 14 and up. It was designed by Nicolas Badoux and Maxime Babad and its main mechanics are Variable Player Powers, Hand Management, and Take That.
Athena is threatened by the great Pope, and the Knights subjected to his power are ready to fight! 5 Bronze Knights: Seiya, Shiryū, Hyōga, Shun, and Ikki must end this threat before the extinction of the last flame of the Clock. During the game, players each play one of the five available Heroes. They will have to face the other Knights they will face or rally to their cause. Play as one of the bronze knights and build your deck as you fight or rally other knights to your cause. Use the various effects of the cards to possess the most powerful knights and have the best team at the end of the game, when the 12 flames of the clock will be extinguished. The player with the most victory point when all the flammes are switched off is the winner.
Saint Seiya: Deckbuilding supports 2–5 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Saint Seiya: Deckbuilding is 40–60 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Saint Seiya: Deckbuilding for ages 14 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
