Tides: Buried Treasure is an expansion for Tides released in 2024 for 1–2 players, 20 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Mike Berg.
An ancient pirate left behind their secret riches. Now they’re yours to keep, provided you can find a good use for them. Buried Treasure 6-card expansion adds to your beach adventure with doubloons and treasure chests. Doubloons are a wild currency that can be used for any craft, while chests increase your hand size. Create all-new objects to celebrate your unexpected bounty! Shuffle the 6 new cards in and play as normal. Each card features a new object to craft as well as one of the new icons (doubloons or chests). Doubloons are wild icons that can be used in place of any other resource and also boost the value of items crafted with them by 3 points, while cards with chest icons do not count against your hand size.
Tides: Buried Treasure supports 1–2 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Tides: Buried Treasure is 20 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Tides: Buried Treasure for ages 8 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
