Hailing from a realm outside normal time and space, the inhabitants of New Genesis and Apokolips are so superior to human beings as to be called the New Gods. Among them, Darkseid has always been a tyrannic threat to the universe, seeking the Anti-Life Equation to dominate all of existence. In this pursuit, he inadvertently unleashed the Anti-Life Virus upon the galaxy.
