20 Strong: Tanglewoods White is an expansion for 20 Strong released in 2025 for 1 player, 40–60 minutes per game, and ages 13 and up. It was designed by Josh J. Carlson and Ryan Howard and its main mechanics are Dice Rolling, Solo / Solitaire Game, and Move Through Deck.
The jealous Evil Stepmother has banished you into the dangerous forest, and then, thinking better of it, has sent a wide variety of goons to finish you off. Your only hope is to navigate the treacherous trees and get back to the Stepmother's castle, where you will fight her most trusted minions before bringing her to her knees for all of the evil stepmothering she's been doing. She's giving stepmothers a bad name! They're the mothers who stepped up! Tanglewoods White is one deck in the new trilogy of Tanglewoods decks for the solo-player 20 Strong system. Each deck in the 20 Strong series is built on a basic set of rules and plays using a single set of 20 dice (as well as one single chip). However each deck adds unique rules and twists to the basic system, resulting in each individual deck playing very differently from each other. The object of a game of 20 Strong is to progress through a shuffled deck of cards, each card bearing a unique challenge. This challenge could be in the form of an enemy, a unique scenario, or some other requirement. Challenges usually require a certain number of successes to complete, which you earn by rolling a set of 17 dice with varying odds of hitting (these dice, along with 3 adjustable stat dice, make up the “20” in 20 Strong). —description from the publisher

Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists 20 Strong: Tanglewoods White for ages 13 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone.
