Agents Secrets is a board game released in 2014 for 6–12 players, 30 minutes per game, and ages 6 and up. It was designed by Arnaud Ladagnous and its main mechanics are Simultaneous Action Selection, Secret Unit Deployment, and Role Playing.
At the height of the cold war, KGB and CIA fight for controlling the world: In Berlin, Cairo, Rio, or Hong Kong, accomplish your missions, counter opposing agents and be wary of double agents...unless you are one yourself! Agents Secrets is a party game for 6 to 12 players who play in opposing (CIA vs. KGB) to win missions all over the world. (The game is freely inspired by "Module 6", a non-credited Russian game, recently discovered.) Each team member receives a secret identity (agent or double agent). During each turn mission cards of various value are revealed, then each player receives secretly three action cards. The turn is resolved after two rounds. During each round, the players of each team can freely discuss their strategy, then secretly assign an action to a mission. Actions are revealed simultaneously. After the second round, all actions are resolved and each mission card is won by the team with the best cards combination. After six turns, the team with the most points wins.
Agents Secrets supports 6–12 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Agents Secrets is 30 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Agents Secrets for ages 6 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Agents Secrets has a complexity rating of 1.5 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
