Arribada is a board game released in 2026 for 2–4 players, 30–45 minutes per game, and ages 10 and up. It was designed by Robert Hovakimyan and its main mechanics are Hand Management, Area Majority / Influence, and Tile Placement.
In Arribada, players lay out turtles during a mass nesting event known as an arribada, “arrival by sea.” The goal of the game is to place turtles in groups (sequences or sets) to score points and to make sure as few of your turtles as possible are left stranded by the end of the game. Family means no turtle gets left behind! Arribada is an approachable strategy game with surprising depth and layered interaction. It’s satisfying and easy to build sets and sequences of your turtles, but things get even more interesting when players begin to fight over the same turtle! Some turtles are better at scoring you quick points, while others are super effective for capturing opponent tiles or gaining bonus turns. When you capture an opponent turtle, it becomes a wild to help you build even more lucrative groups! Meanwhile, players are competing for presence and majorities across the four quadrants for massive end-game points. But be careful, any stranded turtles at game end will hurt your score! Players take turns placing a turtle tile, claiming a neutral tile, or capturing an opponent tile. The game end is triggered when a player places out their last turtle shell. —description from the publisher
Arribada supports 2–4 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Arribada is 30–45 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Arribada for ages 10 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Arribada has a complexity rating of 2.0 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a medium-light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.

Each mechanic links to a catalogue hub with similar games, which helps when you want something comparable.
The credited designers of Arribada are: Robert Hovakimyan. These credits come from the published game data and name the people responsible for the game’s design, not its illustrators or publishers.
