Baby Boom is a board game released in 2010 for 2–4 players, 20 minutes per game, and ages 7 and up. It was designed by Max Valembois and its main mechanics are Dice Rolling and Grid Movement.
In this tactical game for two to four players, the goal is to blow up the enemy die-bomb using its own dices. A die-bomb is a 6 sided dice with 5 sides numbered from 1 to 5 and a face "Boom! Blow your dice-bombs to kill those of your opponents while trying to keep yours on the board. On each move, the countdown of your dice-bomb continues: 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... boom!!! All the dice on its horizontal and vertical lines are blown by the explosion. Only your die remains, until somebody else blow it with another explosion. With its variants and modular platform, Baby Boom offers many different way to play.
Baby Boom supports 2–4 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Baby Boom is 20 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Baby Boom for ages 7 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
