Bonfire Party is a board game released in 2021 for 2–4 players, 5–15 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Yoshiaki Tomioka and its main mechanics are Matching and Cooperative Game.
Everybody's Fire so light it with your heart! A collaborative game perfect for an ice breaker. "One, Two, fire!" It is a cooperative game to bring up the flame by playing a match in. Working together to lay patterns of matches, working to increase the flames. Aim to ignite the flame of the smallest "1" at first, with a total of five flamings. The match in the hand is put out at the same time by the shout of "One, Two! Fire!" If the total number of colors in either match, red or blue, becomes "1", the ignition succeeds. Next, we aim to grow flames with "2", "3", "4", and "5". Even if it succeeds or fails, the match that you put out will be put on the pedestal, It might be a hint, saying that "That person's color will come out next time". If someone's match runs out on the way, the game is over. If you can't increase the flames splendidly, try extinguishing the fire. —description from the publisher
Bonfire Party supports 2–4 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Bonfire Party is 5–15 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Bonfire Party for ages 8 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Bonfire Party has a complexity rating of 1.0 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
