Butter Crime is a board game released in 2024 for 1–6 players, 200–240 minutes per game, and ages 12 and up. It was designed by Sejo Mora and its main mechanics are Cooperative Game.
Butter Crime is a crime to solve. Analyze all the information and solve the puzzles to get as close to the truth as possible. Grandma Rosa Melo has died and you must find out if there is something or someone behind her death. In Butter Crime, players will face different puzzles to solve. The game starts with a letter from your grandmother's lawyer notifying you of her death. From there, with the initial information and the elements we have, we must unlock the four houses in Villa Verde. Similar to an escape room but in a box, we must solve the more than 8 puzzles in the game through the different letters, audios, websites, newspapers and other elements. The objective of the game will be to try to solve the crime and try to get as close as possible to the final resolution. -description from designer

Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Butter Crime for ages 12 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone.
