Capybara Cookie Club is a board game released in 2024 for 2–5 players, 30 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Reiner Knizia and its main mechanics are Hand Management and Score-and-Reset Game.
English description: In Capybara Cookie Club, you play as capybaras hosting a tea party for their friends. Among exquisite guests there’s a whole cross-section of South American fauna, with the titular rodents as the most prominent. Players can expect the finest tea, but also lots of biscuits and gossip. However, despite their innate hospitality, the capybaras have a hidden agenda: they want as many biscuits left in their paws as possible. If you wish to win this charming game full of strategic intrigues, you need to be smart and plan your moves in advance. Your objective is to play cards in such a way that, at the end of the game, it is your capybara that has the most biscuits. Game play summary: Play a card from your hand, placing it on any of the two face-up stacks. The value of the played card must be higher, exactly by one (+1), than the value of the card on the top of the stack. On a value 5 card, you can place a value 1 card again. If there are equal-valued cards on the top of both stacks, you can place any value card (except “7”). Use the played card’s effect: tapir – pass 1 card to the player to your left; turtle – exchange 1 card from your hand for another; armadillo – take one more turn; sloth – take the teapot; anteater – selected player loses 1 biscuit; Capuchin monkey – move the capybara figurine onto the next token and use its effect; toucan – move the capybara figurine onto the second-next token and use its effect. If the player cannot (or doesn’t want to) play a card, they must take the top card from the drawing stack. When one of the players gets rid of all their cards, the round ends. As a reward, this player takes the top card from the drawing stack and receives biscuit tokens valued equal to that card’s value. Round scoring: from among the cards left in their hands, each player picks one highest-valued card per owned animal type and puts biscuit tokens valued equal to the total value of these cards into the common pool. If, after the round is scored, one or more players loses all their biscuit tokens, the game ends, and the player with the highest-value biscuit collection wins." Twoim zadaniem będzie zagrywanie kart w taki sposób, aby ostatecznie to właśnie Twoja kapibara zachowała najwięcej smakowitych ciasteczek na koniec gry.
