Coast to Coast is a board game released in 2020 for 1–5 players, 15–30 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Justin Schroeder and its main mechanics are Set Collection, End Game Bonuses, and Paper-and-Pencil.
A thrifty European client is looking for a travel agent to book their dream American road trip. You will compete to provide the best itinerary, reaching as many iconic locations as possible while minimizing travel costs. Every round four cards will be revealed, each one containing your client's desires for a highway to travel and a region and type of landmark to visit. After first explaining to your client that one of these locations is not worth their time (and crossing this location off your itinerary for good!), you must add one stop to your itinerary for each of the three remaining cards. Each location you add must match at least one symbol on the corresponding card, and you will earn bonus points for matching all three. Featuring some push-your-luck mechanics combined with route building and set collection, Coast to Coast is a fast and fun flip-and-write game for players of all ages. Grab your atlas and a pen: it's time to plan the perfect road trip! —description from the designer
Coast to Coast supports 1–5 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Coast to Coast is 15–30 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Coast to Coast for ages 8 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Coast to Coast has a complexity rating of 1.7 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
