Coloma: New Prospects is an expansion for Coloma for 1–6 players, 60–90 minutes per game, and ages 14 and up. It was designed by Jonny Pac and its main mechanics are Hand Management, Track Movement, and End Game Bonuses.
In Coloma: New Prospects, the game becomes deeper and wider, with heavier mechanisms, more sophisticated engine-building, and added paths to victory. It also flips the script on the Boom/Bust system — making it so players want different outcomes depending on what’s at stake. Additions include: Player Board Extensions and Waterfall Tiles - Each player board is now extended to include a network of wilderness trails to explore. Each time you Bust, you may advance one space. To trailblaze a safe path loaded with valuable bonuses, you can add Waterfall tiles (which replace the Rivers from the core game). All-New Decks of Cards - Each player gets a completely new deck of Town cards to replace the ones from the core game. These cards offer a variety of advanced engine-building mechanisms. New Rotating Barker Tile - The rotating magnetic Barker tile is replaced with a new one that offers more ways to gain Barrels from the Outlaws. It also brings Buster into the multiplayer game. —Description from the publisher
Coloma: New Prospects supports 1–6 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Coloma: New Prospects is 60–90 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Coloma: New Prospects for ages 14 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
