Doom Pilgrim: Miserables is an expansion for Doom Pilgrim released in 2026 for 1–4 players, 5–90 minutes per game, and ages 18 and up. It was designed by Waclaw Traier and its main mechanics are Role Playing.
This expansion for Doom Pilgrim or Doom Pilgrim Pocket brings 36 characters to play with, each with their own special abilities, and win conditions (which we call Quests). It comes in a hook box full of illustrations. While the basic Doom Pilgrim game is about building your own fate, here you find some pre-built fates and the story you uncover while playing then finishes these fates. Into triumph, or doom. Each card has a full drawing of the character on the front side and their story, stats, and quests on the flip side. The cards are as big as the classic Doom Pilgrim cards, but can also be used with the Pocket version of the game, because you do not mix them with your cards. It is compatible with both versions similarly to the Black Bag expansion. Doom Pilgrim Miserables is also compatible with Flails & Citadels and its (upcoming) Pocket version. Or you can use these stories as the basis for character building in your own dark fantasy RPG, like Mork Borg or similar.
Doom Pilgrim: Miserables supports 1–4 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Doom Pilgrim: Miserables is 5–90 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Doom Pilgrim: Miserables for ages 18 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Doom Pilgrim: Miserables belongs to these categories: Fantasy, Fighting, and Horror. Its main mechanics are Role Playing. Categories describe the theme and setting of a game, while mechanics describe what players actually do on their turns. The credited designers of Doom Pilgrim: Miserables are: Waclaw Traier. These credits come from the published game data and name the people responsible for the game’s design, not its illustrators or publishers. The catalogue lists Doom Pilgrim: Miserables as an expansion for Doom Pilgrim. Expansions add new content, rules or scenarios to the base game and usually cannot be played on their own, so you need Doom Pilgrim to use it.
