Foxy: Close Encounters is an expansion for Foxy released in 2026 for 1–5 players, 15 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by David Spada and Christian Giove and its main mechanics are Memory, Solo / Solitaire Game, and Betting and Bluffing.
The Expansion That Turns Memory on Its Head While keeping track of numbers was key in Foxy, here forgetting becomes a weapon. Close Encounters introduces a small deck of cards that completely changes the way you observe… and remember. During the game, the new cards are shuffled into the base game deck and revealed as usual. But when a Close Encounter appears, something different happens: instead of adding an animal to the count, it cancels out one that has already been seen. And what if that animal had never appeared? The total remains at zero. Suddenly, memory isn’t enough anymore: you need attention, adaptability, and the ability to question what you thought was certain just a moment ago. —description from the publisher
Foxy: Close Encounters supports 1–5 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Foxy: Close Encounters is 15 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster.
