Less than forty miles from the Führerbunker of supreme warlord Adolf Hitler, the horizon is lit with an awesome display as thousands of Russian guns begin the barrage that signals the final assault on the Thousand Year Reich. Forty-five miles to the west, advanced units of the U.S. Ninth Army are turned back by political orders to allow the German capitol to fall into Stalin's hands. In two weeks Hitler would be dead; in three, the Reich would surrender.
