Knights of the Hound Table is a board game released in 2019 for 2–4 players, 35–50 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Kenny Chapman and its main mechanics are Open Drafting and Deck, Bag, and Pool Building.
A deck-building card game set in an all dog medieval world. Two sides have been fighting a war for ages, the red and the blue houses, but when The Great Distraction happens, nobody can remember what team they're on. Now it's up to you to draft dogs to your side and win the war! Players will take turns drafting hounds to their side. They'll then play three at a time: 1 to attack, 1 to defend and 1 to use their ability. Gain treats for damage dealt and use it to buy heroes to your deck. Keep attacking your enemies until you're the last one standing!
Knights of the Hound Table supports 2–4 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Knights of the Hound Table is 35–50 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Knights of the Hound Table for ages 8 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
