Lord of the Rings Trivia Game is a board game released in 2003 for 2–4 players, 90 minutes per game, and ages 12 and up. It was designed by Christian T. Petersen.
The Lord of the Rings Trivia Game is the ultimate test of your knowledge of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings! In this exciting board game, each player, or team of players, takes on the role of Frodo Baggins and seeks to destroy the One Ring by throwing it into the fires of Mount Doom. As the players travel through 14 areas of Middle-Earth they must spend precious resources and answer challenging questions. There are 1200 questions; all based on the original books and prepared by a team of Tolkien experts. Multiple choice answers can make the game easier for less experienced Middle-Earthers. The winner of the game is the first player or team to reach and successfully face the challenges at Mount Doom.
Lord of the Rings Trivia Game supports 2–4 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Lord of the Rings Trivia Game is 90 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Lord of the Rings Trivia Game for ages 12 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
