Mindbug: Tag Team is an expansion for Mindbug: Battlefruit Galaxy released in 2025 for 4 players, 15–25 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Richard Garfield, Skaff Elias, Marvin Hegen, and Christian Kudahl and its main mechanics are Hand Management, Take That, and Team-Based Game.
Mindbug: Tag Team is an add-on pack for Mindbug introducing the ultimate 2vs2 experience. This add-on introduces 2vs2-specific cards to create combos with your teammate. It offers a fast-paced gameplay with only 3 cards in your hand and 3 cards in your deck. Here is how it works: Mix the Tag Team 2vs2 pack with any other Mindbug set(s). Team up with a partner and share 3 life as a team. Each player gets 6 cards: 3 in their hand and 3 in their deck. Equip yourself with 1 Mindbug and 1 Mindfrog. Use your Mindfrog wisely to seize control of one of your teammate's creatures at a crucial moment for a tactical edge. In Mindbug, you summon hybrid creatures and send them to battle against your opponents. But be careful: your opponents may use one of their Mindbugs to take control of it.
Mindbug: Tag Team supports 4 players according to the catalogue. This is the publisher’s listed player count, so the game is designed for exactly that number of participants. Variants for other group sizes, if any, are described in the rulebook of your edition, so check it before setting up a different configuration.
The listed playing time for Mindbug: Tag Team is 15–25 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Mindbug: Tag Team for ages 8 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
