Molehill Meadows is a board game released in 2024 for 1–99 players, 20–30 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Chris Priscott and its main mechanics are Simultaneous Action Selection, Paper-and-Pencil, and Network and Route Building.
In Molehill Meadows you play as Mika the Mole, an intrepid adventurer with an affinity for shiny things, a hunger for juicy worms and an innate desire to dig. And dig you will by using polyomino shapes to strategically tunnel paths across flower filled fields, ever expanding your molehill home whilst being careful not to compromise existing pathways. Throughout your journey you will forage for worms, unearth hidden treasures, complete randomly chosen objectives and skillfully connect different sections of the map to earn valuable points. Not only will the delicious worms you collect along the way fill your belly but they also gain you unique powers, such as crafting your own customised tunnels, digging multiple times in a turn and even bending tunnel placement rules in your favour, with many satisfying combos waiting to be pulled off. With simultaneous play and a player count that’s only limited by the number of game sheets you have, Molehill Meadows will be tunnelling it's way into your heart in no time. So pop on Mika’s extra strong glasses and embark on this delightful ever-changing journey through Molehill Meadows and prove your skills in crafting the ultimate tunnel network! —description from the publisher
Molehill Meadows supports 1–99 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Molehill Meadows is 20–30 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Molehill Meadows for ages 8 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Molehill Meadows has a complexity rating of 1.5 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
