Nature: Climate is an expansion for Nature released in 2026 for 1–4 players and ages 10 and up. It was designed by Dominic Crapuchettes and its main mechanics are Hand Management.
Nature: Climate is a redesign of Evolution: Climate, shaped by feedback from more than 400 fans. Nature: Climate brings one of Earth’s most powerful forces of change into the ecosystem: a constantly shifting climate. It’s the largest and most immersive experience yet released for the core game Nature. Life Must Find a Way Earth’s climate is never static. Ice ages advance and retreat, temperatures rise and fall, and environments transform. Some species adapt—growing thick fur or migrating with the seasons—while others disappear into the fossil record. Every dramatic shift in climate marks a turning point in evolutionary history, writing a new chapter in the epic story of life on Earth. Climate adds a climate track, 2 climate dice, and 8 new traits that help species adapt to a dramatically shifting world. The Nature Game System Nature features a modular system that lets players shape the ecosystem. Add Nature: Climate for shifting environmental pressure, Nature: Flight for reduced conflict, or Nature: Jurassic for a more aggressive experience. With 6 modules and 4 mini-modules, there are over 700 unique ecosystems to explore! Nature: Climate supports 1–4 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The catalogue lists Nature: Climate for ages 10 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Nature: Climate has a complexity rating of 2.5 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a medium-light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
Nature: Climate belongs to these categories: Card Game and Expansion for Base-game. Its main mechanics are Hand Management. Categories describe the theme and setting of a game, while mechanics describe what players actually do on their turns. Each mechanic links to a catalogue hub with similar games, which helps when you want something comparable.
The credited designers of Nature: Climate are: Dominic Crapuchettes. These credits come from the published game data and name the people responsible for the game’s design, not its illustrators or publishers. Designer pages on MeepleRules collect other titles by the same designers, which helps when you enjoy a game and want to find similar ones.
The catalogue lists Nature: Climate as an expansion for Nature. Expansions add new content, rules or scenarios to the base game and usually cannot be played on their own, so you need Nature to use it. Check that your edition of Nature is compatible, as some expansions were revised between editions.
