About the game
Nyakuza is a competitive game for 2-4 players. Each player is the head of a Cat Yakuza Clan, vying for control over the fishing industry. Get ahead of the competition! Bid for Boats to go out and net the freshest catch in the Bay and establish your seafood Stalls before your rivals. The first Clan to build their Grand Market Stall wins the game! Control the Fishing Industry Around Oki-Yo Bay The waters of Oki-Yo Bay are teeming with fish. Such a lucrative spot would be a great place to set up operations for the different Nyakuza Clan. But, in the end, only one can be top-cat. In Nyakuza, players take on the role of heads of their respective Nyazuka clan. They will bid for boats that will catch the freshest fish out in the bay, then sell them in their seafood Stalls. Each player is racing to build their own Grand Market Stall first, which will prove that they are the best clan and win the game.

Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Nyakuza is 40 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Nyakuza for ages 10 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Nyakuza has a complexity rating of 2.2 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a medium-light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
