Pizzeria Italia is a board game released in 2014 for 2–6 players and ages 6 and up. It was designed by Ilenia Nacci and its main mechanics are Pattern Building and Open Drafting.
Everyone knows the famous round pizza, but in Italy "pizza by the meter" is really popular, too — a long, rectangular pizza. In Pizzeria Italia players will compete in the biggest "pizza by the meter" championship of the world, trying to create the most long, tasty, spectacular pizza faster than anyone else! Players will first get the ingredients for their pizza with a face-up draft system. Then, in real time, they must make the best pizza before their opponents, trying not to mix the wrong ingredients. According to length and taste of the pizza, one of the players will become the "best pizza maker" of the world. Pizzeria Italia is a card game involving both planning and lightning reflexes!
Pizzeria Italia supports 2–6 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The catalogue lists Pizzeria Italia for ages 6 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Pizzeria Italia has a complexity rating of 1.0 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
