QuizWiz is a board game released in 2024 for 1–5 players, 20 minutes per game, and ages 10 and up. It was designed by Rodrigo Rego and its main mechanics are Cooperative Game, Communication Limits, and Solo / Solitaire Game.
QuizWiz is a cooperative trivia game in which players work together to match countries with accurate statements about them. During the game, participants take turns assigning Country cards to Statement and Special Statement cards. Communication is restricted, as players can't reveal or discuss cards in their hands. However they are allowed to discuss Open cards that are on the table and can be played onto the Statements from there. And Country cards may also be played on to the Debate area to be later discussed and potentially moved to Statements. But be cautious — the number of cards played onto Debates is limited, and once exhausted, players must rely solely on their individual insights or the Open cards. The game ends when at least two cards have been assigned to each Statement and Special Statement card. Players then flip all Statement cards to check their answers. Featuring 126 Statements that may or may not be true, corresponding to 72 Country cards, QuizWiz provides great replay value. Players can select any of 14 setups, categorized into three different difficulty levels, adding an extra layer of variety to the game.
QuizWiz supports 1–5 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for QuizWiz is 20 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists QuizWiz for ages 10 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
QuizWiz has a complexity rating of 1.4 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
QuizWiz belongs to these categories: Trivia. Its main mechanics are Cooperative Game, Communication Limits, and Solo / Solitaire Game. Categories describe the theme and setting of a game, while mechanics describe what players actually do on their turns. The catalogue lists QuizWiz as a base game. It can be played on its own with the components in the box and does not require any other title. Expansions, if any exist, add new content or rules on top of it and are listed separately in the catalogue with a link back to this base game.
