Sheep & Garden is a board game released in 2020 for 1–4 players, 15–30 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Shun Taguchi and Aya Taguchi and its main mechanics are Tile Placement, End Game Bonuses, and Enclosure.
Sheep & Garden is a tile-placement game for 1 to 4 players that takes about 15 minutes. Each player starts the game with three objective cards, and while in the two-player game each player has their own secret cards, with 3-4 players you have one personal objective in addition to sharing an objective with each of your neighbors. Try to work well together to help each other out! On a turn, you choose one of the three tiles on display and add it to the shared landscape everyone is creating in the center of play. Once all 37 tiles have been placed, players score points based on their objectives, and whoever has the most points wins.
Sheep & Garden supports 1–4 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Sheep & Garden is 15–30 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Sheep & Garden for ages 8 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
