Skiwi is a board game released in 2025 for 1–7 players, 15–20 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Marinde Kneppers and its main mechanics are Cooperative Game and Solo / Solitaire Game.
Skiwi! This Kiwi loves skiing, but the weather on the mountain changes quickly. Help the Kiwi navigate the tracks while braving the sun, rain, snow, and lightning. Keep an eye on the weather and work together to help the Kiwi conquer the ski track. Each player starts with an open card and takes turns. On your turn, connect your card to the other cards on the table to extend the track. After placing your card in front of you in the way you choose, draw a weather card. It rotates your track card, forcing you to connect it in a new way. Watch the weather carefully: there are only two cards of each type, so remember which ones have already appeared. The game ends when the weather deck runs out for the second time. Add up your final points to see what kind of skier you are. Work together to build the best route and make the Kiwi the ultimate skier! 1-7 Players, 8 Years older, 15-20 minutes Rulebooks available in English, Dutch and German Can be played by people of other languages without issues Cooperative game. —description from the publisher
Skiwi supports 1–7 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Skiwi is 15–20 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Skiwi for ages 8 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Skiwi has a complexity rating of 1.0 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
