Smitten 2 is a board game released in 2025 for 1–2 players, 5–10 minutes per game, and ages 14 and up. It was designed by Jamey Stegmaier and Ryan S. Davis and its main mechanics are Hand Management, Square Grid, and Deduction.
Smitten 2 is a cooperative micro-game for 1-2 players. The 9 new cards in this standalone sequel are designed by Ryan S. Davis. In Smitten 2, players work cooperatively with limited information/communication to complete two identical 3×3 grids of cards, each inspired by Stonemaier games released since the original Smitten and illustrated by The Mico. There are multiple difficulty levels and separate modes for solo and 2-player games. Smitten's core design was inspired by comic book cards from Jamey’s youth, specifically a set where various cards formed a cohesive 9-card panorama image. In trying to complete two of these images in Smitten, there is no set turn order; rather, players indicate a preference to play or not play a card. The played card has instructions for the other player to place a card, which they must do or the game instantly ends. —description from the publisher
Smitten 2 supports 1–2 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Smitten 2 is 5–10 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Smitten 2 for ages 14 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Smitten 2 has a complexity rating of 1.0 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
