Snowdonia: Bayerische Zugspitzbahn is an expansion for Snowdonia released in 2013 for 1–5 players, 75 minutes per game, and ages 10 and up. It was designed by Tony Boydell and its main mechanics are Worker Placement.
A new advanced scenario for Snowdonia based on the Bavarian Zugspitze railway built up the highest mountain in Germany (it is also one of only four rack railways still working in the country). Designed as part of an ongoing Blog exercise, the scenario is being distributed - initially - in print & play form for playtesting & polishing (again part of the Blog). The scenario further develops the importance of the Surveyor for work (building, excavating and track laying), uses a more benevolent version of Snow as weather and even has a Cable Car to get to the Zugspitze Summit. PLEASE NOTE: This is now available in 'officially published' form but only in German as part of the Lookout Games Snowdonia: Erweiterung.
Snowdonia: Bayerische Zugspitzbahn supports 1–5 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Snowdonia: Bayerische Zugspitzbahn is 75 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Snowdonia: Bayerische Zugspitzbahn for ages 10 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.

The catalogue lists Snowdonia: Bayerische Zugspitzbahn as an expansion for Snowdonia. Expansions add new content, rules or scenarios to the base game and usually cannot be played on their own, so you need Snowdonia to use it. Check that your edition of Snowdonia is compatible, as some expansions were revised between editions.
