SpaceShipped: Solo Challenges is an expansion for SpaceShipped released in 2024 for 1 player, 30 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Michelle Skevington-Carter and its main mechanics are Solo / Solitaire Game and Scenario / Mission / Campaign Game.
A Collection of Solo Challenges created by Michelle Skevington-Carter for SpaceShipped. Enhance your game sessions with 18 solo challenges. This is a brilliant idea, of course, and I’d be quite happy to see these sorts of things appear for ALL of the soloable Button Shy titles out there. Why not make it so you MUST buy as many Asteroids as you can afford/hold when they cost 1M? Or to take damage when the enemy collects a Xeno Crystal? This one is less about scoring conditions and more about gameplay interactions, providing even more reasons you’ll lose during your next round of SpaceShipped. These originated as a weekly challenge at the Button Shy discord and after lots of requests, we’ve made them something you can carry with you and play at any time. Each will twist your game of SpaceShipped in a fun new way.
SpaceShipped: Solo Challenges supports 1 player according to the catalogue. This is the publisher’s listed player count, so the game is designed for exactly that number of participants. Variants for other group sizes, if any, are described in the rulebook of your edition, so check it before setting up a different configuration.
The listed playing time for SpaceShipped: Solo Challenges is 30 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists SpaceShipped: Solo Challenges for ages 8 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
SpaceShipped: Solo Challenges belongs to these categories: Card Game, Print & Play, and Expansion for Base-game. Its main mechanics are Solo / Solitaire Game and Scenario / Mission / Campaign Game. These credits come from the published game data and name the people responsible for the game’s design, not its illustrators or publishers. Designer pages on MeepleRules collect other titles by the same designers, which helps when you enjoy a game and want to find similar ones.
The catalogue lists SpaceShipped: Solo Challenges as an expansion for SpaceShipped. Expansions add new content, rules or scenarios to the base game and usually cannot be played on their own, so you need SpaceShipped to use it. Check that your edition of SpaceShipped is compatible, as some expansions were revised between editions.
