Tattoo Brawl is a board game released in 2019 for 2–4 players, 40–90 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Gerardo Whiu and its main mechanics are Take That, Trading, and Simulation.
In Tattoo Brawl, players compete to prove who is the best tattoo artist in the Tattoo Shop. Picking the right combination of ink and style, from 7 different colors and 5 tattoo styles, players rush to obtain the best score making the most difficult and unique tattoos – often sabotaging their rival tattoo artists. Yet they must also know the clients’ personalities to choose the best human canvas where they will capture their art. On each turn, the players will take ink, select tattoo designs or choose clients to make the tattoos with the most victory points. Also, they must plan their movements very carefully as rival players can steal the ink or tattoo styles. The game ends when a player reaches the finished tattoo goal, and the player with the highest number of victory points wins! Strategic, fun and exciting, Tattoo Brawl is a game with an original theme for your best game nights. —description from the publisher
Tattoo Brawl supports 2–4 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Tattoo Brawl is 40–90 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Tattoo Brawl for ages 8 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
