Teotihuacan: Shadow of Xitle is an expansion for Teotihuacan: City of Gods released in 2020 for 1–4 players, 90–120 minutes per game, and ages 12 and up. It was designed by Daniele Tascini and its main mechanics are Variable Player Powers, Set Collection, and Area Movement.
The devastating force of the eruption of Xitle completely buried and destroyed Cuicuilco and Copilco, both significant civic and religious cities. The survivors have scattered across Mesoamerica, many settling in and around Teotihuacan. The rapid infusion results in accelerated growth of Teotihuacan and leads to the adoption of new technologies as Teotihuacan establishes itself as a seat of power in the region. Teotihuacan: Shadow of Xitle adds ten new technologies and ten new starting tiles to the game. New technologies enhance advanced strategies and add incredible variety to the game experience by doubling the number of possible technologies. During set-up, you randomly choose six technologies as usual, ensuring that no two games are alike! The new starting tiles offer new starting options for you to experiment with, further deepening your overall game experience! All content is compatible with both solitaire play and the first expansion, Teotihuacan: Late Preclassic Period. —description from the publisher
