Texas Hold'em with Zombies is a board game released in 2013 for 2–8 players, 20 minutes per game, and ages 10 and up. It was designed by Daniel Pawlicki and its main mechanics are Take That, Player Elimination, and Betting and Bluffing.
Texas Hold'em with Zombies (THZ) is an adventure card game which blends poker strategy with role-playing elements. Players spend rounds of game play betting their life on winning poker hands, collecting much needed item cards, and killing zombies. Each round, players compete to play these zombies against the other players. Unless you have the right item cards to kill them, barricade against them, or lure them back against the other players who sent them, the undead will eat your chip stacks, your life. A game is won by the player who best masters the knowledge of suited card play, reading people, weapon and defense item card combinations, and a bit of good 'ole fashioned' luck! —description from the publisher
Texas Hold'em with Zombies supports 2–8 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Texas Hold'em with Zombies is 20 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Texas Hold'em with Zombies for ages 10 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone.
