The Badger Deck is a board game released in 2014. It was designed by Dennis Bennett.
The Badger Deck is an expanded deck of playing cards suitable for prototyping new games or for playing a whole range of already available (but possibly out of print) games. With the four standard suits it is an 88-card deck; with 10 suits it is 220 cards. The basic deck consists of the standard set of suits (hearts, clubs, diamonds and spades) with an additional six suits: pyramids, moons, stars, flowers, coins, bats. All suits have the ranks Ace (A), numbers 0-10, the traditional ranks Jack (J), Queen (Q), King (K) as well as additional ranks Fool (F), Wizard (W), Sorceress (S), Hero (H), Princess (P), Castle (C), Mythical creature/Monster (M).
The Badger Deck has a complexity rating of 1.0 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
The Badger Deck belongs to these categories: Card Game and Game System. Categories describe the theme, setting and style of a game rather than its rules. Filter the catalogue by the same category to find similar games when you enjoyed The Badger Deck and want something comparable for your next game night.
The credited designers of The Badger Deck are: Dennis Bennett. These credits come from the published game data and name the people responsible for the game’s design, not its illustrators or publishers. Designer pages on MeepleRules collect other titles by the same designers, which helps when you enjoy a game and want to find similar ones.
The catalogue lists The Badger Deck as a base game. It can be played on its own with the components in the box and does not require any other title. Expansions, if any exist, add new content or rules on top of it and are listed separately in the catalogue with a link back to this base game.
