The Reaper is a board game released in 2017 for 3–5 players, 30–50 minutes per game, and ages 14 and up. It was designed by Frank Turrini and its main mechanics are Hand Management and Dice Rolling.
The Reaper passes and carries away the doomed person. This applies to the participants in this game who are, undoubtedly and irrevocably, dead. Or maybe not. Death seems to have made a mistake; one of the people sitting at the table should have to stay alive, but his/her identity is unknown. There is only one way to overcome the issue: a dice challenge. Which is each one’s ability to direct Fate closer to choose. One wins, the rest lose. One comes back to life, the others are dead. —description from the publisher (English) Il Mietitore passa e porta con sé chi è destinato a lasciarci. —description from the publisher (Italian)
The Reaper supports 3–5 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for The Reaper is 30–50 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists The Reaper for ages 14 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
The Reaper belongs to these categories: Dice. Its main mechanics are Hand Management and Dice Rolling.
