Catalogue Description "TYRANNO EX" (AH 890) An easy-to learn game of strategy for 2 to 4 players, TYRANNO EX paints evolution in enjoyable, fast paced strokes far removed from dreary textbooks. Players alternate selecting animals and guiding them through the rapidly passing millennia to survival or extinction by changing the environment to better suit their particular characteristics. Those which survive environmental changes must still withstand challenges in battle by predators seeking to secure their place at the top of the food chain. The Primeval World lives again - but how well and for how long depends on you! •••••••••••• Players attempt to shepherd their chosen dinosaurs through an ever-changing environment. Each player attempts to alter the environment during every game round. Extinction looms for those who can not survive in the current environment. Even those that can survive the environment need to survive a round of combat from opposing player's dinosaurs.
Tyranno Ex supports 2–4 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Tyranno Ex is 120 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Tyranno Ex for ages 12 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Tyranno Ex has a complexity rating of 2.3 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a medium-light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
