Unlock!: Mythic Adventures is a board game released in 2020 for 1–6 players, 60 minutes per game, and ages 10 and up. It was designed by Cyril Demaegd, Vincent Goyat, Yohan Servais, Jeremy Koch, Jérémy Fraile, Arnaud Pincemaille, and Périnne Kurtz and its main mechanics are Storytelling, Cooperative Game, and Pieces as Map.
Unlock! is a series of escape adventures for up to six players. With one hour on the clock, players work through a deck of sixty cards as a team, searching for clues, combining objects, and solving puzzles. The free Unlock! companion app runs the timer while also providing clues, offering hints, and confirming successes. Once the team has reached a solution and entered the correct code into the app, they will escape and win the game! Unlock!: Mythic Adventures contains three scenarios revolving around these themes. • In the Clutches of Hades (easy) - You are Alix, a slave in Greece during antiquity. Gaining your freedom will not be an easy task unless you ask the Gods for help. • Professor Noside's Animal-O-Matic (medium) - "The Animal-O-Matic transfers you into the body of any animal. It's not dangerous, I'm telling you! Will you stop moving James!" • Around the World in 80 Minutes (difficult) - "I made the bet with these gentlemen from the Reform Club that we will travel around the world in 80 days. Passepartout! Hurry! The world awaits Phileas Fogg's masterstroke!" —description from the publisher
Unlock!: Mythic Adventures supports 1–6 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Unlock!: Mythic Adventures is 60 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Unlock!: Mythic Adventures for ages 10 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Unlock!: Mythic Adventures has a complexity rating of 2.2 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a medium-light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
