Volfyirion Guilds is a board game released in 2023 for 1–2 players, 20–40 minutes per game, and ages 14 and up. It was designed by Alessandro Veracchi and its main mechanics are Open Drafting and Deck, Bag, and Pool Building.
After the fall of Rorius house, the king of Mysthea, in order to contain the power of the Volarees house, created a system of 5 guilds and assigned a specific role to each of them. Now, the guilds are fighting for the top step of the political scene. Set in the wonderful world of Mysthea, Volfyirion Guilds events take place immediately after the previous title: Volfyirion; and about sixty years before the events of Mysthea. The game retains all the features and mechanics from its predecessor, indeed it's a competitive and fast-paced deck-building card game for two players. At the same time, however, it adds more depth to the gameplay, thanks to 110 new cards, including new card types, abilities, and mechanics. In addition, the game has renewed the solo mode: now you can fight against Mysthea world epic creatures, each of which has its own features and rules. Volfyrion Guilds can be played as a standalone game or combined with the classic Volfyrion and this amplifies the alternatives for players. Part of the 'Volfyirion Card Game Series' —description from the publisher
Volfyirion Guilds supports 1–2 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Volfyirion Guilds is 20–40 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Volfyirion Guilds for ages 14 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Volfyirion Guilds has a complexity rating of 2.6 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a medium-light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.

Categories describe the theme and setting of a game, while mechanics describe what players actually do on their turns. These credits come from the published game data and name the people responsible for the game’s design, not its illustrators or publishers.
