Volles Fass voraus: The Tavern is an expansion for Volles Fass voraus released in 2023 for 2–4 players. It was designed by Giansimone Migoni.
This harbor tile replaces the upper left most tile during setup. When you ships reach the TAVERN harbor, your sailors demand liquid refreshment - or they will turn their backs on you. To pay for your crew's inevitable drinking spree, you should be liquid as well - that means, have enough doubloons... SETUP: Set up the game of Volles Fass voraus as usual. Then replace the harbor tile at the corner of the gameboard next to doubloon space 30 with the TAVERN HARBOR TILE. (On that island, you can even see a picture of the tavern with its straw parasols.) -- These are the 4 berths at the TAVERN -- The berth all the way left (bollard #1): If your ship lands here, it will become expensive! Every sailor you have wants to take drinks worth 2 doubloons. For each of your sailors, you need to decide whether you pay his bill – or whether you let him go, i.e., put him back into the box. The berth second from the left (bollard #2): If your ship lands here, it won‘t be cheap either! Every sailor you have wants to take drinks worth 1 doubloon. For each of your sailors, you need to decide whether you pay his bill – or whether you let him go, i.e., put him back into the box. The berth second from the right (bollard #3): If your ship lands here, it won‘t be quite that expensive! Every 2 of your sailors share drinks worth 1 doubloon. Decide for all your sailors whether you pay their bill – or whether you let them go, i.e., put them back into the box. For each doubloon (of the bill) that you don‘t pay, you lose 2 sailors. If you have only 1 sailor overall, he won‘t cost you anything. If you have 3 sailors, you‘ll have to pay only for 2 of them (= 1 doubloon). Even if you have exactly 5, 7, 9, 11 or even 13 sailors, one of them drinks at the TAVERN for free. The berth all the way right (bollard #4): Your sailors don‘t drink… or they pay on their own… or the tavern keeper takes care of the bill himself – for whatever reason… So, if your ship lands here, you lose neither any doubloons nor any sailors! Sit back and relax, and wait for the next game turn … that you – with berths in the east – will carry out as usual only when all the other ships have left the tavern and have arrived at the next harbor by now!
